Sell in Shopee: How to Start/Create a Shopee Store in 2021 (Online Business)

Many entrepreneurs have identified Shopee as a helpful avenue to market and sell their products.
Nowadays, more and more people have began to establish their own businesses in hope to make an effective income stream, especially that the pandemic season have evidently marked a negative impact to everyone.

For this tutorial, I will be showing you the step-by-step process on how to start your own Shopee store in 2021.
I hope that my experience would be of help to you as you begin your own journey in business!

Tip: If possible, try to do this from a desktop.
This is because it is easier to manage the process of creating a Shopee store from a desktop view.
Anyhow, using your mobile phone would still suffice.

Step One: Sign-in/Log-in to your Account

If you’re totally new to Shopee, you would have to sign up first and create your new account.
Otherwise, proceed to logging-in your user account.

Step Two: Getting Started

After logging-in, you will be redirected to your Account page where you can edit your personal Shopee profile.
This page is basically the main profile of yours in terms of shopping stuff on Shopee where you enter your
personal details such as your name, contact, address, etc.
You may need to fill-in these form first just so you can get started on Shopee.

Step Three: Seller Centre

By the top left corner of the page, you will see the Seller Centre menu.
Click that to be redirected to the Seller page/Shop Profile where the setting-up of your store should begin.

This is the landing page. Click on your profile at the top and select “Shop Profile

Filling in the details of your Shop Profile is vital in creating your own store.
So make sure to enter all the necessary details needed such as your Shop Name and Shop Description.

Tip: You must have decided on your Shop Name firsthand before saving.
Shopee has a rule that once saved, you cannot rename your store again within 30 days. I have learned that the hard way, so I hope you’d get to avoid that by choosing the best Shop Name you have in mind before saving.

Click “Save” afterwards.

Step Four: Setting up more Shop details

From the same page, you may see the menu of settings by the left side
which include all the necessary settings/activities that you must do in order to run your store effectively:
Shipment, Order, Product, Marketing Centre, Finance, Data, Customer Service, Shop, and Setting.

Step Five: Uploading Your Products to Sell

Product setting

From the Product setting on the left side menu, click on “My Products“.
This is where you should begin to upload the products that you’re selling, and here you will also be shown all of the product listings that you have including the statuses.

Click on “+ Add a New Product” button to add new product/s.

First, you will need to identify the product category of your item(s).
Afterwards, proceed to the next part where you should fill up a more detailed product description about your item(s).

Finish all the steps highlighted in this page that you need in order to enlist your product(s) on Shopee.

Once everything is done, click the “Save and Publish” button.
Shopee may take a bit of time to process and approve your listed products but as long as you didn’t violated any of their regulations, then don’t worry.

Tip: Upload your product photos in high quality shots, so buyers would take more interest to choosing your shop to buy.
Also, make sure to enter a very detailed product description that could cover any questions that may come up on the buyer’s mind.

Got your first buyer? Fret not!

I understand that having your first buyer is something that’s spine-chilling. I’ve been there!

On my next post, I will be covering how to handle your very first Shopee store buyer, and more tips on how to prepare.

  1. For starters, Etsy is an American-based e-commerce platform where entrepreneurs sell mostly art and crafts. Meanwhile, Shopee, as a Singaporean establishment, is mainly popular as an e-commerce store in Asia such as in the Philippines. Shopee is more like the Amazon of Asia. You can basically sell anything under the sun in Shopee. Hope this helps! 🙂
